Musical Director of two new ongoing youth world music projects in Essex and Cambridgshire.

Directed 4 large scale musical projects at Essex Primary School in 2011 and 2012.

Tutor at the Global Music Foundations courses in Saarwellingen (Germany) and Certaldo (Italy) 2009

20 years of educational work with the Grand Union Orchestra, ranging from one-off rhythm workshops to large-scale projects in world music and jazz, for all ages from 6 to 90, including working with students at Leeds College of Music and Birmingham Conservatoire.

Involved in the development of the ABRSM horns jazz grades syllabus, contributed a tune to the grade 5 list and played on the CDs, including all the scale demonstrations! Also led several sessions for peripatetic teachers to build their confidence in teaching the syllabus.

Tutor on the ‘Ÿllas Winter Jazz’ course (Jan ’08) with performance at Ÿllas Jazz Festival (Finland) organised by Jyväskylä Vocational Institute.

Tutor on the Guildhall Jazz Summer School (’06,’07,’08).

Centre For Young Musicians, teaching trumpet and taking a brass jazz group from ’05.

Marlborough College Summer School “Jazz Instrumental Workshop” courses ‘07 to ‘10 .

Workshops and courses with Scott Stroman, Charlie Beale, Jason Yarde, Pete Churchill, Eddie Harvey, Annie Whitehead.

External examiner, jazz trumpet, Royal College of Music (’07).

Workshops with jazz co-ops in the UK.

Workshops in Afro-Cuban music with Alex Wilson and others for youth big bands, Salsa dancers and primary schools.

National Film and Theatre School, improvisation workshops with the composition students.

I have transcribed John Mclaughlin’s rhythm teaching DVD ‘Gateway to Rhythm’, and the transcripts are available for free download from his website.

I also teach classical 'cello, having taken the LTCL teaching diploma in my youth!
